Prayers – Fr. Joe 5/5/23

Prayers Requested by Father Joe (5/5/23)

These prayers were provided by Deacon Mike at our May 5, 2023 council meeting.

Father Joe has requested that all Brothers pray them as often as possible – ideally each day. For our good and the good of our Parish, our families, and our Council we ask all Knights to honor Father’s request. (Click here to download PDF)

Prayer Against Every Evil

Spirit of our God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Most Holy Trinity, Immaculate Virgin Mary, angels, archangels, and saints of heaven, descend upon this nation, Your Church on earth – especially my parish, my family. Please purify us Lord, mold us, fill us with yourself and use us.
Banish all the forces of evil from us, especially all forms of socialism, destroy them and vanquish them so that we will be healthy and do thy will.
Banish from us all spells, witchcraft, black magic, malefice, ties, maledictions, and the evil eye; all diabolic infestations, oppressions, possessions; all that is evil and sinful; jealously, perfidy, envy; all physical, psychological, moral, spiritual, and diabolical ailments.
Burn all of these evils in hell, that they may never again touch us or any other creature in the entire world.
I command and bid all the powers who molest us– by the power of God all powerful, in the name of Jesus Christ our Savior, through the intercession of the Immaculate Virgin Mary– to leave each and all of us forever, and be consigned into the everlasting hell, where they will be bound by Saint Michael the archangel, Saint Gabriel, Saint Raphael, our guardian angels, and where they will be crushed under the heel of the Immaculate Virgin Mary.
Amen

Prayer for the Souls in Purgatory

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the most Precious Blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory. Especially for those Forgotten, the deceased members of my Family and my Parish, and for ____, ____, ____.
Amen

Prayer to St. Joseph

O Glorious St. Joseph, thou who hast power to render possible even those things considered impossible, come to our aid in our present trouble and distress. Take this important and difficult affair under thy particular protection, that it may end happily.
That all the morally corrupt in positions of power, prominence and prestige, especially those who wield civil, judicial, and spiritual authority may, by God’s grace and for the sake of the innocent and defenseless and those who are being led astray, be either moved to repentance and conversion or be replaced by those who will be just in God’s sight in their exercise of authority.
O dear St. Joseph, all our confidence is in thee. Let it not be said that we would invoke thee in vain; and since thou art so powerful with Jesus and Mary, show that thy goodness equals thy power.
St. Joseph, to whom God entrusted the care of the holiest family that has ever been, grant, we ask of you, be the father and protector of ours, and let the grace be brought to us to live and die in the love of Jesus and Mary.
St. Joseph, pray for us who have recourse to thee.
Amen

Mary, my Mother

Mary My Mother; do not let me commit mortal sin!
By the Power that the Eternal Father granted you. (say one Hail Mary)
By the Wisdom that the Son granted you. (say one Hail Mary)
By the Love that the Holy Spirit granted you. (say one Hail Mary)
Amen

Prayer to your Guardian Angel

Holy Angel, my counselor, inspire me;
Holy Angel, my defender, protect me;
Holy Angel, my faithful friend, intercede for me.

Holy Angel, my consoler, fortify me;
Holy Angel, my brother, defend me;
Holy Angel, my teacher, instruct me;
Holy Angel, witness of all my actions, purify me;
Holy Angel, my helper, support me;
Holy Angel, my intercessor, speak for me.

Holy Angel, my guide, direct me;
Holy Angel, my light, enlighten me;
Holy Angel, whom God has assigned to lead me, govern me.
Amen

Prayer for Law Enforcement

Heavenly Father, I lift up to You those who work in law enforcement asking for Your protection over them this day from all harm. Grant to them Your Spirit of Wisdom and right judgement in the performance of their duties with Your gift of patient endurance and fortitude. Watch over their families, helping them to trust in Your providential care. We ask You to grant Your healing graces upon those who have been wounded in the performance of their duties and to shed Your mercies on those who have lost their lives that they may be received into the fullness of Your Kingdom.
In Jesus’ name, Amen

Prayer to Mary, Undoer of Knots

Virgin Mary, Mother of fair love, Mother who never refuses to come to the aid of a child in need, Mother whose hands never cease to serve your beloved children because they are moved by the divine love and immense mercy that exist in your heart, cast your compassionate eyes upon me and see the snarl of knots that exists in my life. You know very well how desperate I am, my pain, and how I am bound by these knots. Mary, Mother to whom God entrusted the undoing of the knots in the lives of his children, I entrust into your hands the ribbon of my life. No one, not even the evil one himself, can take it away from your precious care. In your hands there is no knot that cannot be undone. Powerful Mother, by your grace and intercessory power with Your Son and our Liberator, Jesus, take into your hands today these knots of pride, fear, doubt, unbelief, slothfulness, mental, physical and emotional illnesses I lift up to you on behalf of __, __, __…
I beg you to undo them for the glory of God, once and for all. You are our hope. O my Lady, you are the only consolation God gives us, the fortification of our feeble strength, the enrichment of our destitution, and, with Christ, the freedom from our chains. Hear our plea. Keep us, guide us, protect us, o safe refuge! Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for us.
Amen

Prayer to St. Paul the Apostle

O glorious St. Paul, after persecuting the Church you became by God’s grace its most zealous apostle. To carry the knowledge of Jesus, our divine Savior, to the uttermost parts of the earth you joyfully endured prison, scourging, stoning and shipwreck, as well as all manner of persecutions culminating in the shedding of the last drop of your blood for our Lord Jesus Christ.
Obtain for us the grace to labor strenuously to bring the faith to others and to accept any trials and tribulations that come our way. Help us to be inspired by your Epistles and to partake of your indomitable love for Jesus, so that after we have finished our course we may join you in praising Him in heaven for all eternity. Grant your intercession for our parish family under your patronage.
Amen

Prayer to the Holy Spirit (from St. Augustine)

Breathe in me O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy; Act in me O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy; Draw my heart O Holy Spirit, that I love what is holy; Strengthen me O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy; Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy.
Amen
