The Our Father

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
hallowed be Thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.  Amen

Glory Be

Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning,
is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.  Amen

Hail Holy Queen

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of mercy,
our life, our sweetness and our hope.
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve:
to thee do we send up our sighs,
mourning and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn then, most gracious Advocate,
thine eyes of mercy toward us,
and after this our exile,
show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!  Amen

The Gloria

Glory to God in the highest. And on earth peace to people of good will. We praise You. We bless You. We adore You. We glorify You. We give You thanks for Your great glory. O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father almighty. O Lord Jesus Christ, the Only-begotten Son. O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father: You Who take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. You Who take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. You Who sit at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us. For You alone are holy. You alone are the Lord. You alone, O Jesus Christ, are most high. Together with the Holy Spirit in the glory of God the Father.  Amen

Prayer for Life (by Pope Saint John Paul II)

Oh Mary, bright dawn of the new world, Mother of the living, to you do we entrust the cause of Life. Look down, O Mother, at the vast number of babies not allowed to be born, of the poor whose lives are made difficult, of men and women who are victims of brutal violence, of the elderly and sick who are killed by indifference or out of misguided mercy.  Grant that all who believe in your son may proclaim the Gospel of Life with honesty and love to the people of our time.  Obtain for them that grace to accept the Gospel as a gift ever new, the joy of celebrating it with gratitude throughout our lives, and the courage to bear witness to it resolutely,  in order to build together, with all people of good will, the civilization of truth and love, to the praise and glory of God, the Creator and lover of life.  Amen

Family Prayer (by Supreme Chaplain William Lori)

Heavenly Father, thank you for the gift of our family.  Enlighten our hearts and minds that we may live more fully this vocation of love.  In our daily life and work, may we reflect the self-giving love which you, O Father, eternally show with your Son and the Holy Spirit.  Let your love be evident in the peace that reigns in our home and in the faith we profess and live.  May our family always be a place of generosity, understanding, forgiveness, and joy.  Kindly give us the wisdom and courage to be witness to your eternal design for the family; and grant that the Holy Family of Nazareth may always guide our path to holiness as a family.  We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever.  Amen.

Prayer for Knights

Our Lady, Queen of the Knights, bless all the activities of our Order. Keep us true to our pledge, to extend the kingship of thy divine son on earth. Through Thine intercession, win for us the grace, ever to exemplify in our public and private lives, the virtues that should characterize those especially dedicated to the service of the heavenly court. Make us always aware that as your Knights, we are constantly observed, our faith judged, and our Order appreciated. Accept, O Mary, this renewed pledge of fealty and devotion, of Thy Servants, the Knights of Columbus.  Amen

Saint Michael Prayer

Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the divine power of God cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Prayer for Priests (provided by Deacon Mike)

O Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we adore You and we love You with all our hearts. We come before You, humbly and prayerfully, to intercede for all Your holy priesthood. (We lift up in a special way all the priests who reside in our diocese.) Father, we give You thanks with grateful hearts for the faithful witness of so many priest-sons. Bless and protect them, Father, hold them and shelter them in the palm of Your Hand.

Jesus, Eternal High Priest, we lift up to You those priests who suffer and struggle, those who are heavy-burdened, and those who have lost their way. Bless and heal them, Jesus, You Who have said, “Come to Me all you who find life burdensome… and I will give you rest”

Holy Spirit, Eternal Love of the Father and the Son, pour out Your Love, Your Gifts, Your Graces on every priest of God. Strengthen them, Holy Spirit, fill them and assure them of our love.

O Mary, Mother of Jesus, Queen and Mother of all priests, intercede for these special sons of Yours. Hold them in Your Immaculate Heart, cradle them in Your arms, protect them from every evil bent against them, teach them to love, and lead them at last into the arms of Your Son in Heaven.  Amen

Prayer For Our Brothers and Sisters in WNC (provided by Deacon Mike)

Heavenly Father, we remember those who have lost their lives so suddenly. We hold in our hearts the families forever changed by grief and loss. Bring them consolation and comfort. Surround them with our prayer for strength. Bless those who have survived and heal their memories of trauma and devastation. May they have the courage to face the long road of rebuilding ahead.

We also ask for your blessing on all those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, security, and hope. Bless the work of relief agencies and those providing emergency assistance. May their work be guided by the grace and strength that comes from You alone.

Be with the rescue workers and keep them safe as they make heroic efforts in dangerous situations to rescue those in trouble. Help us to respond with generosity in prayer, in assistance, and in aid to the best of our abilities. Keep our hearts focused on the needs of those affected, even after the crisis is over. Let us remember this is a marathon, not a sprint.

St Hyacinth, patron saint of flood and drowning victims, pray for us. Amen
